It is open to the general public with no membership required, serving self-represented litigants, students, attorneys and the public through research databases, reference help, classes and court-form assistance.
The cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, on West Temple Street in the Civic Center. Designed by Rafael Moneo and opened in 2002, it is open to the public for Mass, private prayer and self-guided visits, with a plaza, gardens and a gift shop. General visiting is free. A 12-acre county park running downhill from the Music Center to City Hall, with lawns, a splash fountain and year-round free events. It is the main public green space of the Civic Center and a gathering point for downtown festivals and July 4th.
